I am a writer, researcher and collector of the finest quality Victorian taxidermy. I tell stories via this blog about those pioneers who gave birth to the heyday of Natural History during the 19th century.
I am especially happy to help the descendants of some of these extraordinary British Victorian naturalists and pioneers to learn more about the part that their ancestors played in developing our natural history heritage.
My stories are based on facts that I have personally researched and uncovered through many hours of reading and studying. I subscribe to specialist online resources with digitised records and to services from academic libraries.
I am always thrilled to answer queries from others around the world and have forged new friendships and learned a lot from those who contact me.
